Hi all!
Thanks for reading this blog! I thought it'd be a great way to share our experiences prepping up for LOUD, and give the XYZ people a sneak preview of the hottest event in XYZ this year! As mentioned, we'll be uploading pictures and vids as much as we can. Hopefully all of the band will share their thoughts on the sessions, the music, the concept and the people involved! We'll be having 3 ZCs in July, hence the entire team will be called up to the plate to serve! Although this is mainly a LOUD run-up, we'll try to cover all jams and practices. And we'll detail any new song that comes up as well.
We are well into practices (sessions) now, and we've actually covered a lot of base ground. We're still open to song ideas for LOUD (Secular and Christian), so if you have any, let us know. We're also looking for a new/solid band name. And no, we are NOT Projectgsus, that's the name of our songwriting project, not the band proper!! So any ideas, just leave a message in the chatbox or mail us (xyz.worships@gmail.com).
There's new ground we haven't explored that we're going to venture into this year, and it all revolves around timing, or what Ben would say, rhythm. This doesn't just mean playing on tempo, but everything in the hall triggered revolving around the exact timing of our music. This includes: Multimedia videos, Lights, Graphics, Drum Loops, Mixing etc. For all you music junkies out there, all of you will know the importance of playing on time right? We're trying to take it further, down to the exact beat, of synchronization. So we'll be covering this more as it unfolds.
We're having session number 5 tomorrow! Sessions in M1 are really fantastic. M1 is the new music room we're using. It's a huge improvement over Hall 3 in terms of sound. With the acoustic foam and sound dampeners everywhere, it keeps the sound real tight, and eliminates the need for monitors. Also, we're arranged in a circle, so everyone can see /hear/scold/laugh at/throw at/feel/touch everyone else. Yes.
After tomorrow night's practice, we'll blog in again and show you guys some stuff we do!
Keep tuned in!
